Maureen Adams comes from Darnley, Prince Edward Island, where the CFCY Hoe-down was standard Saturday night entertainment. However, she didn’t stop there with her musical influences, and moving away right after high school gave her access to plenty of musical inspiration. She was active in the Ottawa and Eastern Ontario music scene for 15 years playing djembe in various ensembles, including three years performing and recording with Ottawa-based band Lighthousekeepers. Moving back home in 2010 inspired Adams to expand instrumentally, and she started playing the mandolin. More recently she also picked up the bass, to play with the Ontario based band Yo Mama. Maureen is a founding member of the Fluffy Little Cowboys and works with her partner Montreuil on writing and arrangement.
